The Newsroom: The Complete Second Season Blu-ray November 4, 2014
HBO Home Entertainment has officially announced the 3-disc Blu-ray release of Aaron Sorkin’s The Newsroom: The Complete Second Season. The series stars Emmy Award winner Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, John Gallagher Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn and Jane Fonda. The Complete Second Season streets on November 4th.
The Newsroom follows a troupe of zealous journalists earnestly trying to reclaim the legacy of Murrow and Cronkite in the face of a fickle audience, corporate mandates and tangled personal relationships. Season Two picks up a year after Season One, in the days leading up to Election Night 2012. The News Night staff is being prepared to give depositions in a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by a staff member alleged to have doctored a report about a suspicious U.S. Drone strike. As details about the suit’s origin and aftermath emerge, the team continues its quixotic mission to “do the news well” in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles, and their own personal entanglements.
While the series is set at a fictional network, news stories covered in the News Night cablecast are often actual past events, or are inspired by them. The Newsroom offers viewers an opportunity to return to and relive the news events that made headlines, as they watch it unfold for the show’s characters, who race to put together the broadcast. Flashing back to earlier events from August 2011 to November 2012, the new season touches on the administration’s anti-terrorism policy, Occupy Wall Street, Troy Davis, Trayvon Martin, Benghazi and, of course, the primaries and general election.
The Newsroom: The Complete Second Season is presented in 1080p with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround. Special features include:
Four Audio Commentaries, with Aaron Sorkin, executive producer Alan Poul, cast members Jeff Daniels, Sam Waterston, Emily Mortimer, Olivia Munn and more.
Inside the Episodes: Get the inside perspective on each of the episodes with revealing interviews from Aaron Sorkin.

‘I Don’t Know How She Does It’ Blu-ray Announced and Detailed
We don’t know either, but Sarah Jessica Parker’s latest comedy based on Allison Pearson’s critically acclaimed bestseller is still coming to Blu-ray in the new year.
In an early announcement to retailers, Starz/Anchor Bay is working on ‘I Don’t Know How She Does It‘ for Blu-ray on January 3.
From director Douglas McGrath (‘Emma,’ ‘Infamous’) and producer Donna Gigliotti (‘The Reader,’ ‘Let Me In’), Sarah Jessica Parker (‘Sex and the City’) leads a top-notch ensemble cast that includes Pierce Brosnan (‘Die Another Day’), Greg Kinnear (‘Little Miss Sunshine’), Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men”), Kelsey Grammer (“Boss”), Seth Meyers (“Saturday Night Live”), and Olivia Munn (“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”).
NBC’s ‘Moms & the City’ call ‘I Don’t Know How She Does It’ “a hilarious comedy about having it all” and “the perfect film for a girls night out!” The New York Daily News’ Elizabeth Weitzman describes the film as having “plenty of humor and poignancy”, while SHAPE magazine’s Karen Borsari calls it “hilarious!” Finally, New York Magazine’s David Edelstein proclaims, “Sarah Jessica Parker reminds you what an all-in, high-risk comic actress she can be.”
The Blu-ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and the only supplement will be a conversation with Allison Pearson.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $39.99.
